From the Mountains, to the Prairies

Today marked when we truly started leaving the mountains:  behind us, snowcapped peaks; ahead the horizon, probably 120 miles away from our mountainside vantage point.

Somehow I chose the lodge without wifi or cell service, and a a very limited restaurant — closed at 5pm, no breakfast.  Just three miles before was a lodge with all the trimmings.

That squiggly road on the left is where we will be in about 20 minutes

Our lodging for the night

Why yes, there is a bar

Forty-three commendably it is all downhill from here miles.  2226 more saying that the wind would like a word.

(Note:  I have decided to set the publish date to when the stage happened, rather than when I get around to actually doing the post.)
