Nothing to See Here

Literally.  Somehow, between the two of us we only managed to take one picture, despite being a beautiful day, and more picture-postcard scenery.  

That, right there, is the problem.  Such pleasant — and there really is no other word for it — scenery is very difficult to persuasively capture absent skill and the right tools.  The former I lack in spades, an iPhone 15 just isn't up to the task.

Build it, and they will come

Sixty-three gift shop wall art miles today, and cheese curds. A mere 1,108, and Lord knows how many burgers, await.

Here because of the Grace of God, We Are

How else to look at the fact we are in White Salmon, WA with everything going smoothly, instead of having the plan go all 'splodey at the outset ? Much better photo ops today. Columbia River, just east of Camas.  New Hampshire is out there somewhere We rode along Highway 14.  Terrain leaves few east west options, so we were forced to share the highway. Booking along the Columbia .  Twenty knots on the tail didn't hurt our feelings in the least. There are tunnels . Much steepness into White Salmon .  No way we are doing that without cheating. Fifty-three more miles behind us.   3,255 to go.

Leaving the Mountain West Behind

OK, not quite.  The Bighorns remain tomorrow, but the landscape change today was striking.  And made all the more enjoyable by a tailwind practically hurling us down the road. On with today's saturation photo bombing. Crazy Mountain, speaking of crazy. The last of the Rockies The first of the Plains Alongside the Yellowstone River Just past where the road disappears is today's destination, Joliet, SD.  Tomorrow's is straight ahead, over the horizon: Lovell, WY.
